Unique Historical Newspapers and Books added to Belgian Union Catalogue

Many unique historical books and newspapers can now be found more easily by researchers and students, thanks to the inclusion of two bibliographical databases in UniCat, the Belgian union catalogue of research libraries. Abraham - Belgian Newspaper Cataloque and STCV - Bibliography of the Handprinted Book in Flanders contain titles from dozens of heritage institutions not previously included in UniCat. read more

Flanders Heritage Library receives the Flemish Award for Cultural Heritage

On October 25, the Flanders Heritage Library received the Flemish Community Award for Cultural Heritage 2012-2013 from the Flemish Minister for Culture. The presentation took place in Bruges, during the annual consultation and meeting moment of the Flemish cultural heritage sector.

Flemish Minister for Culture, Mrs Joke Schauvliege: 'The Flanders Heritage Library is a network of six prominent heritage libraries that, spurred by a young, dynamic staff, has acquired a spot for itself in the field of the Flemish heritage libraries.
